Monday Email Woes

You ever have a morning where you wake up and quickly realize that it's going to be one of those days. You make extra coffee, grit your teeth and settle in for the long haul.

That was my day yesterday...

I don't use Outlook here, we use Mozilla Thunderbird. As a rule, I love it. It rarely gives me a problem, I can have several email accounts showing at once, the encryption - once you figure out how - is pretty easy to install. But apparently it can forget you. Yes. That's right. I opened up my email and saw nothing but white space. No email, no email accounts, nothing. I stopped. I stared at the screen for a good 30 seconds with my mouth hanging open. I said a few words that shouldn't be repeated here...

Thank goodness for the Mozilla support forums! Apparently, this is a known glitch and there's a fix. It took me a good 3 hours to get all of my email back and accounts set up, and to set up a new profile so hopefully this won't happen again. Whew! If this happens to you, check out THIS - the instructions were pretty easy, it's just time consuming.

Talk about scary though! My entire work life revolves around email. It's amazing how much you can come to rely on it in my line of work.

To make matters even more fun, my host, LuxSci, who I absolutely love, upgraded their email boxes and I was getting 3-6 copies of every message because I leave them on the server until I delete them. That was fun.

But hey, I have email now and the world is a better place :)
